Via we-make-money-not-art, The Guardian has a great slideshow of works by photographer Tom Hunter that are up at the National Gallery in London. His work blows me away in that it explicitly comments on art history without feeling at all academic. I've always been interested in the ideas of 'covers,' like DEVO covering 'Satisfaction,' but this doesn't happen as frequently in the visual arts. |
