Bruce Sterling is becoming an obssession. Fortunately, he talks... a lot. And is podcasted... a lot. Here's a link to his Internet of Things talk at the ETech06 conference.

The last couple of talks I've heard him give have strayed from strictly tech, back towards the uses and abuses of language. In particular he talks about how the wrong neologisms can incorrectly frame a concept or technology, thereby stunting it's growth. He speculates that if we had chosen the word 'ordinator' [after the French ordinateur] then we might have had Google in 1980.

Google beats AI? What if the AI has built-in WiFi?
