previous | 23 June 2006 | next Quick things today: Via WPA\C, WMATA is looking for artists to propose installations for five new stations going out to Dulles. The budget for each is $250,000 with up to 20% going to the artist. PDF proposal here. For the last year I've been very marginally involved in the new restaurant project from Carole Greenwood and James Alefantis. It's been pretty hush-hush, but in anticipation of the actual opening they will be hosting a few fundraisers for various worthy organizations, so I guess the cat is out of the bag. Next Thursday COMET will host a party for TRANSFORMER, so come out and support a great organization that provides solid opportunities for young artists to get critical attention. PDF invitation here. I think Adamson Gallery willl be doing something soon; it would be great if a larger venue like the Katzen Center or the Hirschhorn would put together a large-scale show.
